HWAC Makes Waves at 2010 Ken Dunn Championships

Fourteen swimmers. Thirty-seven medals. Two Individual High Point Awards. And one Top Team Performance Award.

Pretty awesome results for one of the smallest swim teams in Atlantic Canada.

Add to this the fact that every single member of the Halifax Wavecutters Aquatic Club has now achieved East Coast Time Standards (way to go, Baylee!) – a huge testament to the quality coaching of Nickolay Shulga and the can-do attitude and work ethic of our swimmers.

And while many, many best times and top-eight placements were achieved at Ken Dunn, for want of room we’ll just list those who medaled. Congratulations to the following:

12 & Under Boys

Colm – 1^st in all of 200 Free, 50 Breast, 50 Fly, 200 Fly, 200 IM, 200 Back. Colm was also awarded the Individual High Point Award for 12 & Under Boys.

Roger – 1^st in 400 Free, 800 Free, 400 IM; 2^nd in 50 Back.

Blair – 2^nd in 400 Free, 800 Free, 50 Breast; 3^rd in 200 IM, 200 Free.

12 & Under Girls

Julia – 1^st in 50 Free, 200 Free, 400 Free and 200 Back; 3^rd in 50 Back. Julia was also awarded the Individual High Point Award for 12 & Under Girls.

Ruah – 1^st in 800 Free, 50 Fly and 400 IM; 2^nd in 200 IM; 3^rd in 400 Free

Katie – 2^nd in 400 IM

13-14 Boys

Andrew – 1^st in 800 Free; 2^nd in 200 Free; 3^rd in 100 Free

Devon – 1^st in 100 Back; 2^nd in 200 Back, 200 IM and 400 IM; 3^rd in 100 Fly

Jacob – 3^rd in 400 Free

1^st in the200 Freestyle Relay

2^nd in 200 Medley Relay

15 & Over Girls

Lucy – 2^nd in 50 Free
